What Can We Learn From Africa 4

INCTR's fourth meeting on "What can we learn from Africa" will take place in Arusha from February 13-15th 2014. The meeting will have two parts - one focused on the association of infectious diseases and cancer in Africa (which has the highest proportion of infection-related cancers in the world, and another focused on the continuing theme of the diagnosis of hematological neoplasms in Africa. There will be presentations, case discussions and sessions on the diagnosis of leukemias and lymphomas in Africa as well as a session on treatment and the importance of early diagnosis.. Most of the African participants will be from East Africa, with a smaller contingent from Nigeria and other equatorial African countries. Aspects of the meeting will have relevance to INCTR's project on the treatment of Burkitt lymphoma described below. A number of additional organizations and companies will sponsor the meeting.
