In the Spotlight

INCTR has been fortunate to have the assistance of two students in the past several months of this year.

Elizabeth Kersten graduated from Stanford University with honors with a degree in Human Biology. She has been providing clinical support to the pediatric oncology ward at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She also helps to coordinate a Parents’ Group and to prepare health information for patients and their families at ORCI. This autumn, she will attend medical school in the US.

Lauren Vilardo is majoring in physics at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She is doing a summer internship at INCTR Headquarters in Brussels. She has been assisting INCTR in promoting its activities and in researching ways to improve access to care and to improve drug procurement practices in developing countries.
