Open Letter to Baroness Scotland

The Rt Hon. Patricia Scotland QC
Secretary General
The Commonwealth Secretariat
Marlborough House
Pall Mall, St. James's,
London
SW1Y 5HX

Dear Baroness Scotland,
On behalf of the Governing Council of the international Network for Cancer Treatment and Research, I am writing to express our appreciation at the inclusion of the item on “Cervical Cancer and Endemic Childhood Cancers" at the next meeting of Commonwealth States. Given the urgency of the growing cancer situation in many of the poorer resourced Commonwealth member states we are grateful to the Secretariat that room could be found for this discussion in addition to an already full meeting agenda. We understand that the focus for next year’s Health Ministers' Meeting will be focused on enhancing the global fight against NCDs and raising awareness, mobilising resources and ensuring accessibility to universal coverage. If my colleagues at INCTR can be of help in identifying experts to advise the Secretariat on opportunities to build sustainable and integrated front line capacity in the LMI Commonwealth member states, please let me know.

Yours sincerely etc.
