NNCTR/INCTR Nepal Attends a National Workshop on NCDs

The Nepal Public Health Foundation, with the support of the WHO Nepal country office, organized a national workshop on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which took place on September 9th and 10th, in Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop was widely attended by representatives from many hospitals, medical colleges, NGOs, and by public health and government officials. Dr Surendra Bade Shrestha, Director of NNCTR/INCTR Nepal attended the workshop. The main objectives of the workshop were to crystallise key issues on NCDs and submit these to the Nepalese prime minister, foreign minister and health minister for the UN Summit on NCDs, to lobby the government to develop a policy and strategy for addressing NCDs, including an action plan, and to form a working group to establish a national NCD network. Representing NNCTR/INCTR Nepal, Dr Shrestha was invited to join this working group.
