The Development of Systems for Documenting Pediatric Cancer at the Tikur Anbessa Hospital in Ethiopia

Geoffrey Buckle, a volunteer for INCTR USA spent six weeks at the Tikur Anbessa Hospital in Addis Ababa working with the Pediatric and Adult Hematology/Oncology Departments to establish systems to improve documentation about pediatric cancer patients seen at the hospital. Developing evidence on which to base interventions is integral to INCTR USA’s strategy for improving the survival of pediatric cancer patients in Ethiopia. Geoff has a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University. In early August, Geoff started medical school at the University of Massachusetts. INCTR thanks Geoff for all of his efforts in Ethiopia and wishes him the best of luck in medical school.
