Who Comprehensive Guidelines For Cervical Cancer

WHO has just published a new edition of its guidelines relating to cervical cancer in the second edition of "Comprehensive cervical cancer control: a guide to essential practice (C4GEP)" to which INCTR contributed. In particular, it outlines the complementary strategies for cervical cancer prevention and treatment, and the need for collaboration across programmes, organizations and partners. This new guide updates the 2006 edition and includes the recent promising developments in technologies and strategies, e.g., the potential role of HPV testiing iin early detection as well as HPV vaccination to prevent the disease. It also addresses aappraches to filling the gaps between the needs for and availability of services for cervical cancer prevention and control..
